Iraqi Business Council Launches “Code It Forward” Program In Cooperation with (Living Light International Organization) To Support Iraqi Refugee Students in Jordan
Among the activities of the Youth Committee (Future Leaders) and the Social Responsibility Committee and in cooperation with (Living Light International Organization), IBC launched “Code it Forward” Program, which is prepared and coordinated by Living Light International Organization.
The Program aims at teaching programming to Iraqi refugee adolescents and youth in Jordan to create a generation of youth capable of keeping pace with the modern and rapidly developing software and computers era, help them build their capabilities and provide them with basic skills that will assist them find suitable work opportunities in the labor market and economically empower them on the long term.
With the support of the Iraqi Business Council, ten computers were distributed on Thursday August 6th 2020 on ten trainees of the first phase of the Program, which started on Saturday August 8th 2020, noting that the number of the targeted students on this Program is (40) Iraqi refugee secondary-level students in Jordan.
The activity was attended by IBC Deputy Chairman and Secretary General Mr. Saad Naji and members of Living Light Internaitonal Organization; Ms. Saba Al-Issa and Ms. Raneem Ersheed.
The duration of first phase of the course will be one month and IBC will organize a ceremony to distribute graduation certificates to the participating students.
IBC members who wish to take part in sponsoring this educational and pioneering Program are requested to contact the IBC Secretariat.
The sponsoring company will be granted a certificate of appreciation for supporting the Program, its logo will be placed on the graduation certificates that will be given to the students at the end of the course.
