Canadian Commercial Counselor
IBC Vice Chairman and Secretary-General Mr. Saad Naji met on Wednesday August 19th 2015 with the Commercial Counselor Mr. Jean Philip and the Trade Representative of the Canadian Embassy in Jordan Mrs. Wafa Harzallah at IBC Headquarters / 3rd Floor.
During the meeting, the anticipated visit of the Canadian National Security Advisor to Jordan was discussed and the desire of the Canadian Embassy to organize a business lunch for IBC members in honor of the Canadian National Security Advisor in order to discuss economic and trade issues and means of promoting relationships between Iraq and Canada.
For his part, Mr. Saad Naji welcomed this invitation and stressed IBC desire to cooperate with the Canadian Embassy to organize this meeting which would contribute to facilitating the business activities of Iraqi investors in Iraq and Jordan, in particular securing facilities and overcoming obstacles as to the granting of entry visas to Canada to Iraqi investors and trade delegation.
Agreement was reached to involve IBC in all economic activities organized by the Canadian Embassy in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan
The idea of establishing the Iraqi Business Council is based on the common desire generated by a number of elites. Those who are Iraqi investors and businessmen on the territory of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan unanimous in the importance of creating economic reference for them, as well as for those who wish to join them in order to maximize Iraq’s investment in Jordan, as well as to contribute actively to Iraq’s construction and reconstruction.
The idea of establishing the Iraqi Business Council was well-founded and blessed by the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Accordingly, the approval of the competent Jordanian authorities was commended for launching the Iraqi Business Council in Jordan.

It is worth mentioning that the idea of establishing the Iraqi Business Council was launched based on the common desire that was generated by a number of elites, who are Iraqi investors and businessmen present in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, where they agreed on the importance of forming an economic reference for them, as well as for those who wish to join them, in a way that contributes to combining and unifying their efforts, in order to maximize Iraqi investment in Jordan, as well as effective contribution to construction and reconstruction in Iraq.
The idea of establishing the Iraqi Business Council found a good response, and was blessed by the government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, so the approval of the competent Jordanian authorities was obtained, thankfully.
The task of establishing it was undertaken by an elite group of Iraqi businessmen known for their efficiency and competence. Since the launch of the council in late 2006, the members have worked to make efforts that support Iraqi investments in Jordan. As well as coordination and cooperation with official bodies, in order to find solutions and proposals to overcome the obstacles and impediments facing investors
