IBC Hosts the Signing & Publicizing Ceremony of Dr. Sudad Sadiq Jawad Al-Timimi’s Book

Among the activities of IBC Cultural Program (Ibdaa) and under patronage of the Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan Mrs. Safiya Al-Siheil, represented by the Iraqi Consul Dr. Abdul Sattar Al-Janabi, IBC hosted on Saturday April 16th 2016 the signing and publicizing ceremony of Dr. Sudad Sadiq Jawad Al-Timimi’s Book “Woman”.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Dr. Muhammad Al-Baldawi presented an overview on the biography of the author Dr. Sudad Al-Timimi and an outline on the topics addressed by the author which sheds light on the wrong concepts relating to woman from the social, psychological and sexual angles.

Dr. Al-Baldawi elaborated on the chapters of this book whereas the first chapter addressed woman’s position in society and the significant variance in the role a woman plays in the Western civilization against the her role in the present Oriental culture.

The second chapter addressed woman’s toilet that occupy many topics that are tackled on the social and religious levels.

In the following chapters he addressed problems relating to harassment describing it as a phenomenon almost like an epidemic existing in the Arab world, the psychological extents and disorders that affect a woman in various stages of her life.

The ceremony also included some discussions by the guests relating to a number of issues addressed in the book.

On IBC side, the ceremony was attended by IBC Vice President and Secretary Mr. Saad Naji, Vice President Mr. Turkey Al-Qaissi, Board member Mrs. Wasan Al-Khafaji and IBC member Dr. Jalal Al-Bayyaa.

Members of the Diplomatic Corps were also present; the Egyptian Military Attaché Colonel Thamir Muhammed Fikri, Iraqi Military Attaché Brigadier General Qassim Shahin and a number of the Iraqi Embassy staff.

Also present was the former Director of the Royal Medical Services Major General Doctor Khalaf Al-Jadir, elite Iraqi and Jordanian medical consultants, a crowd Iraqi intellectuals and writers, media personnel, Satellite TV Channels, in addition to IBC CEO and staff.

It is worth mentioning that the Author was born in Baghdad and was awarded a Doctorate Degree in Medicine (MD) from Wales University in 1988 and was the first graduate of a foreign university to be granted this honor on his thesis “Methods of Assessing Antiepileptic Drugs on Patients”.

He gained experience in assessing and treating epilepsy diseases especially the incurable types.

He established the first clinic for epilepsy treatment in a primary health centre in 1994 and at the same time established a clinic to assess the Evolutionary Neurological Disorders in adults and became an expert in the evaluation of Autism and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in adults (ADHD).

 

Opening of the First Personal Exhibition of Iraqi Artist Dr. Khleif Mahmoud Under the Title “Remnants of Things”

Among the activities of IBC Cultural Program (Ibdaa), the personal exhibition of Iraqi artist Dr. Khleif Mahmoud was opened on Sunday April 3rd 2016 on IBC Hall under the title “Remnants of Things”.

During the opening ceremony the artist toured the exhibition with IBC Board member Mrs. Wassan Al-Khafaji, IBC members; Mr. Hassan Al-Dahhan, Mr. Muhammad Al-Baghdadi, Iraqi artist Yada Al-Obaidi and a group of attendees to view the displayed paintings in which the artist used the expressionist and modern realism methods.

The show included (31) works executed in oil, acrylic and water colors.

In the displayed paintings the artist expressed the current situation in Iraq and its cultural heritage, describing Iraq as a mine and treasure from which intellectuals, creators and artists draw their knowledge and creativity in order to carry the identity and impression of their homeland wherever they travel and wherever they settle.

The paintings were characterized by the beauty of their colors to excite and provoke the recipient; especially the red color.
The opening ceremony was attended by a large number of IBC guests, a crowd of artists, media and Satellite TV Channels.

 

IBC Hosts an Exhibition & Auction of Eastern Antiques & Exquisite Items From the Collection of Iraqi Expert Engineer Muhammad Al-Baghdadi

Over three days, from February 18th to 20th 2016, IBC hosted on IBC Hall an exhibition and auction for Eastern antiques and exquisite items from the collection of the Iraqi expert Engineer Muhammad Al-Baghdadi.

 The exhibition included silver, glass and porcelain antiques, carpets, beads strings, old and modern jewelry and miscellaneous exquisite items.

The auction was opened on Saturday evening with the presence of IBC Chairman Dr. Majid Sadi, IBC Vice Chairman and Secretary-General Mr. Saad Naji, IBC Board member Mr. Turkey Al-Qaissi and IBC member Dr. Ahmed Al-Jubouri.

The auction opening marked the presence of a large number of experts, antiques collectors and members of the Jordanian community.

The visitors viewed the items in exhibit and listened to the Iraqi expert Engineer Muhammad Al-Baghdadi while he delivered a presentation on the exhibited items reviewing the historic and artistic value of the exhibits.

 

The idea of establishing the Iraqi Business Council is based on the common desire generated by a number of elites. Within the activities of IBC Cultural Program (Ibdaa), the second Deputy of the Jordanian House of Representatives President Mr. Khamis Attiyah opened on Saturday January 16th 2016 on behalf of the President of the Jordanian House of Representatives Engineer Atif Tarawneh the personal exhibition of the renowned Iraqi artist Ibrahim Al-Abdali on IBC (Zain) Hall – 1st floor.

The event was attended by MP Mr. Atif Qawar, a number of the diplomatic corps in Jordan, a crowd of the Iraqi community in Jordan, artists, media, and Satellite Television Channels.

During the opening ceremony the Vice President of the Jordanian House of Representatives, IBC Chairman, IBC Vice Chairman and Secretary-General and a number of IBC Board Members toured the exhibition with artist Ibrahim Abdali to view the exhibited murals and paintings “Ibrahim Abdali’s Murals – Capitals of Nostalgia” in which the great artist Ibrahim Abdali in the gorgeousness of absolute emotional remembrance stirs up aspects of his artistic consciousness toward evaluating the past by imposing the dignity of his overwhelming nostalgia on everything related to Baghdad (specifically Al-Kharkh Sector) which is his soul’s breather and the storage of his obsessions in which he sought and since the early years of his long artistic experience (the early 60s) to commemorate selective scenes and extracts from this historic City’s realms and interpret on his murals that are standing on a number of buildings, cultural and historical monuments (Baghdad International Airport – Departures Hall / Houses in Haifa Street / others in London…. and others).

Opening of the Second Personal Art Exhibition of Iraqi Artist Bushra Al-Khateeb “Samiramis”

Under IBC “Ibdaa” Cultural Program, the second personal art exhibition of Iraqi artist Bashra Al-Khatib titled “Samiramis” was opened on Saturday November 28th 2015 under the patronage of the Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan Dr. Jawad Hadi Abbas on IBC Hall (Zain) – 1st Floor.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Ambassador’s wife, the Iraqi Cultural Attaché Dr. Abbas Al-Husseini and a number of the Embassy staff. On IBC side, the ceremony was attended by IBC Vice Chairman and Secretary-General Mr. Saad Naji, a large number of academics, artists, media and members of the Iraqi community in Jordan, in addition to IBC CEO and staff.

During the ceremony the Iraqi Ambassador and his wife toured the exhibition accompanied by artist Bushra Al-Khateeb to view the paintings in exhibit that were marked by the expressionist and realist style introduced with a beautiful narrative technique.

The artist’s paintings were diversified and not limited to a single pattern. She expressed her innermost feelings directly on canvas in terms of subject and technique as to the selection of colors and materials used.

IBC Hosts a Cultural Gala to Mark the First Demise Anniversary of Late Writer Mahmood Al-Bayati

Under the patronage of the Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan Dr. Jawad Hadi Abbas, and within the activities of IBC Cultural Program (Ibdaa), a special ceremony was held on Saturday November  31st, 2015 on IBC Hall to mark the first anniversary of the demise of the prominent Iraqi writer the late Mahmoud Al-Bayati.

The ceremony was attended by a large number of the late writer’s fans and readers who specially came from all over the world to attend this event; from Beirut the Iraqi thinker Dr. Abdul Hussein Shaban, from Cairo Dr. Noori Abdul Razzaq (Chairman of the Afro-Asian People’s Solidarity Organization) and from London Dr. Saad Abdul Razzaq.

The event was also attended by a crowd that traveled from the Kingdom of Sweden, where the late writer had lived for many years, and a number of the late writer’s friends who traveled from Baghdad.

The celebration started with a word of welcome to the audience and introduction by Dr. Muhammad Thabit Al-Baldawi about the life of the late writer, his life in exile in different countries, about a homeland that never departed the later writer’s heart and mind, followed by impressive presentation by the late writer’s friend and companion in exile Dr. Abdul Hussein Shaban, who spoke about the late Mahmoud Al-Bayati in very elegant and moving words.

Dr. Shaban’s speech was titled: “Mahmoud Al-Bayati: The Hook of Dream and Memory Eating Us!” speaking about an arduous journey of a an intellectual in an world of estrangement and loneliness in which he possessed nothing but his intellect and pen.

Dr. Shaban reviewed in his speech the feelings of pain, hope and anger that the Iraqi intellectual feels when he finds himself forcibly banished from his homeland.

After Dr. Shaban’s speech, Al-Bayati’s nvel “The Fugitive” was launched that was published after his demise.

Dr. Muhammad Al-Baldawi gave a summary of the novel including the writer’s nostalgia to Baghdad and its alleys. After conclusion of the brief review on the late Al-Bayati’s (The Fugitive), the Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan Dr. Jawad Hadi Abbas opened the solo exhibition of Iraqi artist Jasmine Omar De-Zey under the title (Biased to Hope) where the artist inspired her themes from the late writer’s novels and life.

At the end of the event, IBC Vice chairman and Secretary-General Mr. Saad Naji thanked the Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan, members of the diplomatic corps, the crowd that participated in the Seminar and attending audience from Amman and other countries.
The ceremony was attended by IBC Chairman Dr. Majid Sadi, IBC Vice Chairman and Secretary-General Mr. Saad Naji and Board member Mr. Usama Quraishi.

On the Embassy’s side the ceremony was attended by Advisor Dr. Muhammad Al-Bayati, in addition to a large crowd of artists, writers, media people, IBC CEO and staff.

Opening the Joint Art Exhibition “Art & Civilization” Hosted by Anamel Group To Revive Mesopotamia

Within the activities of IBC Cultural Program (Ibdaa), Advisor Muhammad Al-Bayati opened on Saturday evening October 3rd 2015 on behalf of the Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan the joint art exhibition titled “Art & Culture” hosted by Anamel Group to revive Mesopotamian civilization in the presence of a large number of the Iraqi community in Jordan, artists, literati, academics and media personnel.

On IBC side, the ceremony was attended by IBC Vice Chairman and Secretary-General Mr. Saad Naji, Vice Chairman Mr. Turkey Al-Qaissi, IBC Board members; Mr. Mekki Al-Faiz and Dr. Fakhri Rishan andnIBC members; Mr. and Mrs. Hassan Al-Dahan and artist Yada Al-Obaidi, in addition to IBC CEO and staff on IBC HALL (Zain) on the First Floor.
During the opening ceremony, Advisor Muhammad Al-Bayati toured the exhibition accompanied by the participating artists; Lina Al-Nassiri, Muhannad Al-Daoud, Firyal Al-Omari, May Al-Nuaimi, Raouf Al-Attar and Nadia Al-Azzawi to familiarize themselves with the exhibited paintings which embodied the ancient civilizations of Mesopotamia “Sumer and Babylon”.

At the conclusion of the ceremony artist Lina Al-Nassiri, participant and organizer of the exhibition, presented the artists who took part in the ceremony with creativity shields.

She also presented, in the name of Anamel Group to revive the Mesopotamian timeless civilization, a memorial shield to Advisor Muhammad Al-Bayati and IBC Vice Chairman and Secretary-General Mr. Saad Naji in recognition and appreciation of the efforts exerted by IBC to support Iraqi artists.

Opening of the Twelfth Solo Exhibition of Iraqi Artist Mutiea Al-Jumaili

Within the activities of IBC Cultural Program (Ibda’a), the Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan Dr. Jawad Hadi Abbas opened on Wednesday August 19th, 2015 the twelfth solo exhibition of Iraqi artist Mutiea Al-Jumaili with the presence of the former Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan Mr. Saad Al-Hayyani.

The event was also attended by the Iraqi Consul Mr. Abdul Sattar Al—Janabi, the Iraqi Cultural Attaché Dr. Abbas Al-Husseini and a number of the Iraqi Embassy staff in Amman. On IBC part, the opening ceremony was attended by IBC Vice President and Secretary-General Mr. Saad Naji, IBC Vice President Mr. Turkey Al-Qaissi, Board members; Mr. Nazar Awchi, Mr. Muhammad Al-Sarraf, Dr. Fakhri Rishan, Mr. Usama Al-Quraishi and IBC member Mrs. Yada Al-Ubaidi, in addition to a crowd of artists, journalists, IBC guests of the Iraqi community in Jordan, IBC CEO and staff.
During the ceremony, the Iraqi Ambassador toured the exhibition accompanied by the Iraqi artist Mutiea Al-Jumailie to view the exhibited art works.
The artist’s work uniquely focused on the issue of wall, effect and expressionist surface inspiring his shapes and symbols from the ancient Sumerian and Babylonian Civilizations, giving the wall and the time span it covered a priceless value, where children’s innocent writings and people’s memories were integrated, thus the paintings carried the artist’s signature and imprint that exceeded 40 long years rich with experiences and discovery.

Among the activities and activities of the Iraqi Women Empowerment Program for the Iraqi Business Council was opened under the patronage of His Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq, Dr. Jawad Hadi Abbas, and in the presence of the Iraqi Cultural Attaché, Dr. Abbas Al-Husseini, Vice President and Secretary of the Iraqi Business Council Mr. Saad Naji, Member of the Administrative Board, Dr. Fakhri Rashan, a member of the humanitarian committee Mrs. Wedad Al-Saffar, the French economic advisor Vincent Toussaint, and the executive director of the French Development Agency, Serge Senerk and their families, “Sumeria” bazaar was inaugurated on Friday 05/08/2015 in the Iraqi Business Council hall, first floor.

During the opening ceremony, His Excellency the Iraqi ambassador and members of the Council toured to identify the exhibits of art paintings, handicrafts and costumes that were distinguished by the Iraqi folkloric character, as well as Iraqi jewelry and food.

The opening ceremony was also attended by a large number of the Iraqi community, the council’s guests, satellite television channels and the media, in addition to the general manager and the council’s staff.

Opening of the Personal Exhibition of Iraqi Artist Danya Al-Ubaidi

Within the activities of IBC Cultural Program (Ibdaa), the Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan Dr. Jawad Hadi Abbas opened on Saturday evening August 1st 2015 on IBC Hall (Zain) – first floor the solo exhibition of the Iraqi artist Danya Al-Ubaidi with the presence of the Iraqi Commercial Attaché Mr. Adib Al-Kakay and a crowd of the Embassy staff.

On IBC side, the event was attended by IBC Vice Chairman and Secretary-General Mr. Saad Naji, Vice Chairman Mr. Turkey Al-Qaissi, Board members; Dr. Fakhri Rishan, Mrs. Wassan Al-Khafaji, a number of IBC members, a crowd of artists, journalists and IBC guests of the Iraqi community in the Kingdom, in addition to IBC CEO and staff.

During the opening ceremony, the Iraqi Ambassador and IBC members toured the exhibition with the Iraqi artist Danya Al-Ubaidi to view the displayed paintings that were characterized by their abstract style where the artist employed (BEE WAX), special colors with certain wax level in addition to the usage of regular oil colors.

Through her works, the artist conveyed a humanitarian message calling for the protection of mother earth. The message also tackled the beginning of earth history to the present day.

It is worth mentioning that the origins of painting with wax date back to the Pharaonic Civilization and ancient Greek origins.
