Iraqi Business Council Hosts the Annual Ramadan Iftar Banquet & Celebrates Iraqi Orphans in Jordan
To strengthen the bonds of love and cordiality in the month of love and forgiveness (Ramadan), and under the title “Ramadan Brings Us Together with Love and Prosperity”, IBC hosted on Sunday May 26th at the Grand Millennium Hotel – Amman the annual Ramadan Iftar banquet which included celebrating the Iraqi orphaned children and distribution of Eid presents.
The ceremony was attended by the Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan Mrs. Safiya Al-Siheil and a number of diplomats, consultants, attachés and Iraqi Embassy heads of departments.
The ceremony begun with a speech delivered by IBC Chairman Dr. Majid Saedi, who spoke about the frameworks that IBC seeks to establish constructive values within an agenda that is consistent in its content and objectives to reflect the spirit of solidarity and assistance that IBC seeks to strengthen.
In his speech, Dr. Saedi lauded the great role the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan plays to facilitate economy and investment for Iraqi economists, in addition to the political and central role of the Kingdom in the region.
In her turn, the Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan Mrs. Safiya Al-Siheil delivered a speech expressing her great satisfaction with this initiative aiming at celebrating the orphaned children and putting a simile on their innocent faces, praising IBC role to support vulnerable families throughout the year through its humanitarian programs.
The ceremony also included honoring the journalists who participated in covering the event and in particular activities relating to celebrating the orphaned children, thanking sponsors of the Iftar event, and honoring Linosa Company for events organization and management chaired by Mr. Yazan Ali Ghalib Al-Khafaji and the company’s staff for the creative design and preparations of IBC Iftar Banquet.
The event was attended by IBC Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Secretary General, a number of IBC board and general assembly members and their families, a crowd of the Iraqi community members including artists and academics, in addition to IBC CEO and staff, journalists and satellite TV channels.
