IBC Receives & Honors Iraqi Expatriate Professor Rayan Abdullah

Among the Activities of IBC Youth Committee (Future Leaders), and in cooperation with the Youth 21 Foundation, IBC held on Thursday March 15th, 2018 at IBC Hall 1st floor a honoring ceremony and lecture under the title “Identity Building” by the Iraqi expatriate Professor Rayan Abdullah.

During the lecture, Professor Abdullah reviewed the techniques and skills of designing slogans, means of guidance and clarification and the theory of building the visual identity and its impact on the individual’s choices and reactions.

Among the activities of IBC Cultural program (Ibdaa) that honors and celebrates Iraqi innovators, IBC Vice Chairman and Secretary General Mr. Saad Naji honored Professor Rayan Abdullah with the “Creative Work Honor” in recognition of his professional and academic achievements in the field of graphic design and his embodiment of Arabic Fonts in his contemporary deigns, in addition to presenting Professor Abdullah with IBC icon “the Sumerian Tree of Life”.

The event was attended by a large number of IBC members, a number of deans and heads of departments of the German – Jordanian University, in addition to a crowd of artists, academics, media and university students.

 

The idea of establishing the Iraqi Business Council is based on the common desire generated by a number of elites. The idea of establishing the Iraqi Business Council was well-founded and blessed by the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Accordingly, the approval of the competent Jordanian authorities was commended for launching the Iraqi Business Council in Jordan.

IBC Hosts a Cultural Evening Evoking Mesopotamia Legends & Stories

For the first time in the Arab world and the Middle East, IBC – Jordan Cultural Program (Ibdaa) hosted on Thursday February 15th, 2018 on Green Philadelphia Theater – Amman Royal Hotel a cultural evening that evoked the legends and stories of Mesopotamia in Sumerian and Acadian breaths in cooperation with Zebang Storytelling Team of the British Enkhidwana Cultural Society; the storytellers John Peters, Badiaa Obeid and the Cuneiform writing expert Simon Clemenson.

The cultural evening included a number of shows in which Zebang Team storytellers recounted stories to make the audience enter the amazing and enchanting world of poetess Enkhidwana, the great Sumerian poetess who lived her entire life in Uruk City and wrote poetry one thousand years before Homers wrote his.. praising gods and writing hymns to temples.  Zebang Team recounted stories and cited genuine Sumerian poetry derived from Sumerian writings including the story of the Ballob Tree, Marta Marriage Tale and the story of the descent of Goddess Ishtar to the underworld.

The ancient Cuneiform writing expert Simon Clemenson presented an overview on the history of Cuneiform writing and its techniques using patterns written on clay slabs.

The aim of (Ibdaa) Program of this unique evening is also Zebang Team’s goal that is highlighting Mesopotamia and ancient Iraq literature.

On IBC side, the event was attended by IBC Vice Chairman and Secretary General Mr. Saad Naji, IBC Board member Mr. Mekki Al-Faiz, IBC members and their families; Mrs. Layla Piyyo, Engineer Uns Al-Shibib Baban, Mr. Ahmed Al-Amili, Mr. Fakhri Rishan, Mr. Usama Al-Shimmari, Mr. Raed Allawi, IBC CEO and staff, in addition to a large crowd of satellite television channels and press.

The events of the cultural activity were broadcasted live by Talal Abu Ghazala Radio for Business and Culture.

IBC Hosts 2017 Global Architecture “Tamayouz” Award

Under the patronage of HE Minister of Public Works & Housing Engineer Sami Halassa, IBC hosted on Saturday December 2nd 2017 at the Grand Millennium Hotel in the Jordanian capital Amman the ceremony of the global architecture award “Tamayouz” for 2017 sponsored by IBC, University of Coventry, Diwan for Engineering Consultancies, Ayad Al-Tuhafi Architecture Bureau, Trade X Global, Iraqi Private Banks League and Zain Telecommunications – Jordan, as well as other sponsors and supporters.

“Tamayouz” Award is an independent initiative solely supported by Iraqi efforts specialized in architecture, with the objective of supporting young architects and inspirational design initiatives. During the ceremony, the winners were honored according to their status.

The ceremony included the following Awards :
– Rifat Al-Chaderji Award for the reconstruction of liberated areas in Iraq – Mosul Housing for 2017 awarded to architects from Poland, Iraq, France, Italy and the United States of America.

This Award supports reconstruction of the liberated areas in Mosul, conducting preliminary studies and finding solutions for the return of the displaced people to their areas.

– “Tamayouz” Award for Architecture Achievement for Life for 2017 awarded to the prominent Iraqi Architect Hisham Muneer who is one of the early founders of the Engineering and Architecture Department in the University of Baghdad.

– “Tamayouz” Award for Iraqi students for 2017 awarded to the top Iraqi student Nazar Razzaq from the University of Baghdad, which University won the top Architecture Department in Iraq for 2017.

– “Tamayouz” International Award for 2017 awarded to the top three architects from Bangladesh, Argentina and India.
During the ceremony, the Minister of Public Works and Housing Engineer Sami Halassa lauded the academic importance of “Tamayouz” Award for Architecture and the efforts of its sponsors, especially the founder of this Award Architect Ahmed Al-Mallak and the role of IBC in supporting the academic community locally and globally.

Also, the Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan Mrs. Safiya Al-Siheil expressed her pride with this Iraqi academic initiative which gave young architects the opportunity to present their architectural talents and achievements to the world.

Mrs. Al-Siheil further lauded the role of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in embracing Iraqi students and giving them seats in Jordanian schools and universities. She also thanked all universities and institutions supporting this Award.
During the ceremony, IBC Chairman Dr. Majid Saedi spoke about the academic support extended to the students through providing scholarships to talented and creative students to enable them to create a better world.

The event was attended by members of IBC in Jordan, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Jordan, representatives of diplomatic missions, Deans and Heads of Architecture Engineering Departments of the Universities of Coventry, Cambridge and Polytechnic University – Milan and Jordanian and Iraqi Universities whose students took part in this year’s competition and won advanced positions in engineering designs.

Heads of major engineering and architecture companies in the Middle East also attended this event, as well as a crowd of those interested in architecture, specialists, media people and elites of the Jordanian and Iraqi societies.

Opening of 14th Personal Arts Exhibition of Iraqi Artist Mutie Al-Jumaili

Among the activities of IBC Cultural Program (Ibdaa), the 14th personal exhibition of Iraqi artist Mutie Al-Jumaili was opened on Saturday November 18th, 2017 on IBC Hall / 1st floor.

The exhibition included a thirty-nine acrylic, oil and other materials paintings carried out on canvas with different techniques and measurements embodying the ancient Sumerian and Babylonian civilizations of Mesopotamia.

The Sumerian and Arabic letter was used to form a link with a history that exceeded 500 years BC. The artist used the “Arabic door” for the first time as a visual painting with a technique that is not free of the impact of the wall and letter.
During the opening ceremony, artist Mutie Al-Jumaili toured the exhibition with IBC Vice Chairman and Secretary General Mr. Saad Naji, a number of IBC members; Mr. Odai Haddad, Mr. Ahmed Al-Amili and Mr. Aqeel Al-Hadi.

The event was also attended by the former Iraqi Minister of Electricity Mr. Abdul Karim Aftan and the former Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan Mr. Saad Al-Hayyani along with a number of guests.

The opening ceremony witnessed attendance of a large number of members of the Iraqi community in Jordan, media, satellite TV channels, IBC CEO and staff.

Participation of IBC Chairman & Members in the Signing Ceremony of “Iraqis in Jordan” by Dr. Abdul Sattar Hadi Al-Janabi

IBC Chairman Dr. Majid Al Sadi and IBC Board members; Mr. Turkey Al-Qaisi and Mr. Ali Ghalib Al-Khafaji participated on Wednesday October 11th, 2017 at Orfali Gallery / Umm Utheina in the signing ceremony of “Iraqis in Jordan” by the Charge d’Affaires of the Iraqi Embassy in Qatar Dr. Abdul Sattar Hadi Al-Janabi.

The signing ceremony was attended by the Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan Mrs, Safiya Al-Siheil, a number of diplomats of the Iraqi Embassy and a crowd of Iraqi economists and academics, in addition to media and press.

The session was conducted by IBC Board member Dr. Muhammad Al-Baldawi and the Political Sciences Professor Dr. Jamal Al-Salabi.

The Researcher reviewed the resources, statistics and schedules on which he relied, and after conclusion he listened to some queries raised by the audience started by IBC Chairman Dr. Majid Saedi where he reviewed the importance of the Iraqi economic presence in Jordan.

The Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan Mrs. Safiya Al-Siheil commented also on the digital statistics reviewed by the Researcher.

It is worth mentioning that the study is considered as the first study conducted in an elaborate scientific approach.

Opening of the 6th Personal Exhibition of Iraqi Sculptor Alwan Al-Alwan

Among the activities of IBC Cultural Program “Ibdaa” and under Patronage of  Zain Telecommunication Company,  the 6th Personal exhibition of Iraqi Sculptor Alwan Al-Alwan was opened on Saturday August 5th, 2017 titled “From My Experience” on IBC Hall / 1st floor.

The exhibition included some twenty art works executed on bronze with the main idea of what goes on in the depths of a human being and the conflicting emotions such as love, fear, immigration and a belonging that is rooted in spontaneous sadness, a message that no matter how life may be unbearable.. there is always hope and the desire to live brightly.

The artist’s message as conveyed by the exhibits: (a human being within himself does not stare at what does not exist.. he always seeks another place).

During the ceremony artist Al-Alwan toured the exhibition with IBC Vice Chairman and Secretary General Mr. Saad Naji, IBC Board member Mr. Turkey Al-Qaissi, a number of IBC members and guests to explain the exhibited works.

IBC Hosts the Annual Ramadan Iftar Banquet & Honoring of the Prominent Iraqi Artist and Director Faisal Al-Yasiri On Saturday June 17th 2017 at Amman Grand Millennium Hotel

On the occasion of the Holy month of Ramadan, IBC hosted on Saturday June 17th 2017 at Amman Grand Millennium Hotel the annual Ramadan Iftar banquet in honor of IBC members, their families and the Iraqi community in Jordan which included, among the activities of IBC Cultural Program (Ibdaa), the honoring ceremony for the prominent Iraqi artist and director Faisal Al-Yasiri.

The festivity included the screening of a documentary covering the main life and career stages of the famous Iraqi artist and director Faisal Al-Yasiri produced by IBC Cultural Program (Ibdaa).

IBC Chairman Dr. Majid Saedi delivered a welcome speech in which he congratulated the guests on the Holy month of Ramadan, wishing them and all the Iraqi people prevalence of peace and prosperity.

He also congratulated the Iraqi people on the victories achieved by our valiant Armed Forces in the liberation of the city of Mosul from the criminal gangs of Daish (ISIS), looking forward to the return of the displaced to Mosul and reconstruction of the city after clearing it from those criminal gangs.

Dr. Saedi also expressed his thanks and gratitude to His Majesty King Abdullah II, the first investment sponsor and to the wise Jordanian Government for facilitating the businesses of Iraqi investors and granting annual residency permits to the Iraqi community in Jordan.
In his speech, Dr. Saedi lauded the rich artistic and cultural career of the creative Iraqi artist and director Faisal Al-Yasiri which is characterized by creativity; mentioning as an example one of Al-Yasiri’s most important television episodes “Open Sesame” which still lives to our present times in the minds of millions of Arabs, in addition to a large number of television episodes and literary works.

Dr. Saedi stressed that (Ibdaa) Cultural Program is an initiative, meaning of which may be reduced to “THANK YOU” to all artists, poets and creative people for their artistic and literary works which contributed to the enrichment of the Arab culture.
Towards the end of the ceremony, IBC Chairman and Board members presented artist Faisal Al-Yasiri with IBC Creativity Shield and IBC’s Icon “Tree of Life”.

On his part, Mr. Al-Yasiri expressed his thanks and gratitude to IBC (Ibdaa) Cultural Program for supporting and sponsoring the Iraqi artists and innovators and celebrating their achievements while they are alive, calling upon all Iraqi businessmen to contribute to supporting production and media due to their importance in human development.

The festivity ended with performances by Basim Fagali and Salatin Al-Tarab Group which the guests enjoyed.

The ceremony was attended by Al-Sharifa Budour Bint Abdul Ilah, Representative of the Iraqi Embassy in Jordan the Iraqi Consul Mr. Udai Hatam, a crowd of the Iraqi community in Jordan, artists, academics and journalists. Opening of the Contemporary Islamic Ceramic Art Exhibition Titled “Letters & Gold” For Iraqi Ceramic Artist Raad Duleimi

Among the activities of IBC Cultural Program (Ibdaa) and under Patronage of  Zain Telecommunication Company, the Contemporary Islamic Ceramics exhibition titled (Letters & Gold) for Iraqi ceramics artist Raad Duleimi was opened yesterday Saturday May 13th, 2017 on IBC Hall. During the opening ceremony, the Iraqi artist toured the exhibition with IBC Vice Chairman and Secretary General Mr. Saad Naji and IBC Board member Mr. Fakhri Reshan to view the items in exhibit.

The exhibition included 30 pieces such as murals, ceramic utensils and tridimensional shapes. Being a calligrapher, engineer and designer, artist Duleimi takes the engineering side in designing letters giving them architectural dimension.

The tridimensional point is Mr. Duleimi’s artistic imprint as he sees the point as the letters’ most beautiful secrets and the source of verbal and visual composition and dedicated painting and the Arabic letter in ceramics to give aesthetic dimension.

HomeCSR IBC Takes Part in the Ceremony of Launching the Award of Architect Rifat Chaderji In Milan City – Italy

Among the activities of IBC Cultural Program (Ibdaa) and IBC Diamond patronage of “Tamayouz” Architectural Creativity Award since its establishment in 2012, IBC participated on Tuesday May 9th, 2017 in the ceremony relating to launching the award of architect Dr. Rifat Chaderji concerning the reconstruction of the liberated regions (Housing in Mosul), and launching of the global “Tamayouz” Award hosted by the Italian Polytechnic University of Milan.

The ceremony started with IBC welcome speech by IBC CEO who reviewed the conception of establishing IBC Cultural Program (Ibdaa) and the role of IBC, who is one of the first founders of the Companies Social Responsibilities of the UN Global Compact in Iraq to support competencies and scientific elites for the creation of a better Iraq, and IBC patronage since 2013 to 2016 of scholarships of Tamayouz Award winners – Iraq when IBC presented during hosting Tamayouz Award honoring ceremony in Amman last year a scholarship to the Iraqi student Ahmed Al-Mashhadani to study for his Masters Degree in Polytechnic University of Milan for the academic year 2017 / 2018.

IBC CEO further stressed IBC desire and readiness to establish effective partnerships and open cooperation horizons with all academic and scientific institutions in the field of cultural exchange and the establishment of joint projects and programs, thanking all sponsors of this Award particularly its founder architect Ahmed Al-Malak.

The ceremony was complemented by the speech of Tamayouz founder architect Ahmed Al-Malak who thanked IBC and all sponsors of Tamayouz Architecture Excellence Award especially the late legend architect Zaha Hadid who chaired Tamayouz Jury since its establishment and had a great influence in spreading the award locally and internationally.  Mr. Al-Malak further reviewed the award history, objectives and categories.

The ceremony included a speech by Architect Fernando Olba (Partner in Fernando Olba Architects & Urbanites – Valencia) who spoke about the Award Jury and its entries, followed by the speech of architect Ayad Al-Tuhafi (Director of Ayad Al-Tuhafi Engineers & Architects – London) about the Housing in Mosul competition, giving a brief about Mosul city and the destruction it was exposed to after its invasion by Daesh (ISIS) terrorist group, and the speech of architect Muhammad Al-Assam (Chairman of Diwan Architectural Group – Dubai) who reviewed the engineering projects executed by the Group in Iraq and the United Arab Emirates and future opportunities, the speech of Mr. Luay Yousif (Bonaire Company) who reviewed an engineering project that preserves the environment and Iraqi heritage, followed by a speech by architect Philip Michael Wolfson (Director of Wolfson Design – London and Miami) who spoke of his cooperation with Zaha Hadid which lasted for ten years and her effect on the world of architecture.

The ceremony was attended by Mrs. Katherine McNeil (Coventry University Course Director), Mr. Mudhir Al-Saloum (Mas Architecture – Leister and Manama) and Mr. Elesando Roca (Polytechnic University of Milan Vice President).

IBC Honors the Prominent Iraqi Musician Ilham Al-Madfai

Among the activities of IBC Cultural Program (Ibdaa), IBC hosted on Thursday April 6th 2017 at the Grand Millennium Hotel – Amman a ceremony to honor the prominent Iraqi musician Mr. Ilham Al-Madfai in recognition of his accomplishments in the original Iraqi singing and his long artistic career.

At the beginning of the ceremony IBC Chairman Dr. Majid Saedi welcomed the present guests noting that this gesture is a culmination of the great Iraqi musician Mr. Al-Madfai’s singing career, during which he presented successful concerts and festivals around the world.

Mr. Al-Madfai is one of the few artists who present authentic art and music as he adapted western instruments to Arabic music.

With that step he contributed to the development of Arabic and traditional Iraqi music and presented to the world to enjoy.

On her part, the Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan Mrs. Safiya Al-Siheil thanked IBC for supporting artists and innovators through its Cultural Program (Ibdaa), and commended Mr. Al-Madfai’s career and his family’s genuineness whose children excelled in the field of architecture.

Afterwards, IBC Chairman Mr. Majid Saedi, IBC Vice Chairman and Secretary General Mr. Saad Naji, Vice Chairman Mr. Nazar Awchi and IBC Board members; Mr. Mekki Faiz and Mrs. Wasan Khafaji honored Mr. Al-Madfai with the Order of Creativity followed by a documentary about his life produced by IBC Ibdaa Cultural Program and a song by Mr. Al-Madfai to mark this event.

The ceremony also included several songs by singer Human Ibrahim including a new song produced with the support of IBC (I am Iraqi), as a token of his genuine love to his country, Iraq, which he has always carried in his heart and sung for.
The event was attended by the Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan Mrs. Safya Al-Siheil, the Iraqi Embassy’s Minister Plenipotentiary Mr. Mustafa Imam, a number of diplomatic, social, artistic and media figures.

On IBC side, the event was attended by a crowd of IBC members and their families, in addition to a large number of television channels and media.
