In its issue of January 6th 2019, Al-Ghad Newspaper published a press release on the visit of “Al-Shabab Bloc”, the candidate Bloc for 2019 Amman Chamber of Commerce elections, headed by Mr. Marwan Azmi Ghaith, and the topics discussed during the Bloc’s meeting with IBC members.

“Al-Shabab Bloc”, candidate for Amman Chamber of Commerce elections, stressed its keenness to overcome the obstacles encountered by Iraqi investors, businessmen and all Arab investors, so as to become the pillars for the national economy.
During its meeting with IBC members, ”Al-Shabab Bloc” pointed out that Iraqis who are the key investors in the Kingdom maintain significant investments concentrated in many strategic and vital sectors that play major role in supporting the national economy, business environment and providing job opportunities for Jordanian.

During the meeting, it was agreed to form an Iraqi – Jordanian committee with Amman Chamber of Commerce to look after the interests of the Iraqi investors.

“Al-Shabab Bloc” who adopted (Towards A Stronger Economy) motto, was headed by Mr. Marwan Azmi Ghaith and comprised of; Mr. Amjad Al-Swelmeen / Abu Sweilem, Ms. Nadia Adel Al-Dijani, Mr. Shawqi Victor Al-Qubti and Mr. Taiseer Muwafaq Al-Khedri.

The Bloc lauded the efforts exerted by IBC to enhance the trade and investment relations and strengthen cooperation between the private sector’s institutions in both countries.

The Bloc further hailed the significant role played by the Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan Mrs. Safiya Al-Siheil as to boosting relations between the two neighboring countries especially the trade relations, including the re-opening of Trebil Crossing Point, where the Ambassador played a significant role in this important achievement.

“Al-Shabab Bloc” promised to exert efforts to make the Iraqi achievements the focus of Amman Chamber of Commerce in the next stage and provide all means to support such investments.

The Bloc pointed out that the major achievements recently realized between the two countries on the economic level brought forth the visit of the Jordanian Prime Minister Mr. Omar Al-Razzaz to Iraq, and it does look forward that the agreements concluded between the two countries would open a new chapter in realizing economic integration between Jordan and Iraq, especially that Jordan considers Iraq a strategic partner and an important artery for the Jordanian exports just as Jordan is considered the gateway to Iraqi economy to the world countries.

“Al-shabab Bloc” pointed out that its program is based on many issues that concern the national economy to be a strong economy and able to overcome the difficulties through consolidating efforts and strengthening all private sector components to be able to respond to challenges.

“Al-Shabab Bloc” program is based on a number of topics such as developing a comprehensive vision in line with the interests of the national economy to stimulate the trade movement, in addition to strengthening partnership with various official institutions to reflect on the trade sector activities and facilitate such activities.

It also includes strengthening Jordan’s trade relations with its Arab environment, especially with Iraq, Syria and Palestine, and activating the role of Amman Chamber of Commerce in passing economic legislations and economic laws, activate the role of the Chamber’s General Commission, extend communication bridges, and coordinate with the Chamber of Commerce when making decisions that concern the trade sector.
