Iraqi Business Council Hosts a Cultural Evening On “Mesopotamia Civilization”
As part of the activities of IBC Cultural Program (Ibdaa), and under the patronage of HRH Princess Alia Bint Al-Hussein, IBC hosted on Wednesday September 25th, 2019 at the Grand Millennium Hotel – Amman a cultural evening on the Civilization of Mesopotamia in cooperation with the team of the British Cultural Anhidwana Association.
The evening included performances in which the “ZIBANG” team that included two storytellers; Badi Obeid and John Peters told tales from the Mesopotamian era such as “Adaba”, “Sidori” and “The Master and the Slave” Tales.
Also, Dr. Martin Worthington, who is a specialist in Ancient Iraqi languages, presented a summary on “A Poor Man From Nippu” film that he had adapted and produced in the Babylonian language and was screened during the evening.
The evening also included an exhibition for artist Hamid Ruweid, which showed copies of a number of works of arts about the civilization of Mesopotamia, on which the artist presented a summary of the symbols and historic indications they included.
The ceremony was attended by IBC Chairman, Board members and members of the General Assembly, elite artists and journalists, in addition to satellite TV channels.
The activity was presented in English and Arabic.
It is noteworthy that (Ibdaa) Cultural Program has promoted the civilization of Mesopotamia in cooperation with (ZIBANG) storytelling team, who held this show for the second year in a row.
