Iraqi Business Council Hosts “Tamayouz” World Architectural Award Ceremony for 2019 For the Fourth Consecutive Year
IBC hosted on Saturday December 7th 2019 at Amman Royal Hotel the distribution ceremony of “Tamayouz” World Architectural Award for 2019 for the fourth year in a row which was founded on 2012 by architect Ahmad Al-Mallak in the United Kingdom that aims at supporting young architects and inspiring design initiatives.
During the ceremony, the Award founder architect Ahmad Al-Mallak lauded IBC role in supporting young people, stimulating their creative energies and highlighting their talents, which includes “Tamayouz” Architectural Award that was supported by IBC since the early stages of its foundation.
During the ceremony, IBC Chairman Dr. Majid Saedi was honored with “Tamayouz” Honorary Award for the “Life Changing” Program which was founded by Dr. Saedi to support the youth and promote cultural exchange among them.
Dr. Saedi affirmed that “Tamayouz” Award aims at supporting the young Iraqi architect and advance the level of performance by adopting the standards of the most solemn international universities.
IBC Deputy Chairman and Secretary General Mr. Saad Naji presented the “Muhammad Mekkiya Award for the Architectural Personality of the Year” to the World Monuments Fund.
This year’s “Tamayouz” Award included seven categories, namely: “Tamayouz” Award for Iraqi Students’ Graduation Projects, the International “Tamayouz” Award, “Tamayouz” Award in Architecture for Women, the Lifetime Achievement Award, the Architectural Personality of the Year Award, Rifat Chaderji Architecture Award and Diwan Architectural Award.
The ceremony was attended by IBC Chairman and Board members, as well as the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Jordan Mr. Haider Al-Athari, the Charge d’Affairs to the Saudi Embassy to Jordan Advisor Muhammad Al-Atiq and the Egyptian Ambassador to Jordan Mr. Sharif Kamil, in addition to a number of representatives of several diplomatic missions in Jordan.
The ceremony was also attended by a number of Iraqi, Jordanian and foreign architectural and academic personalities, Deans and Heads of Architecture Departments in Iraqi, Jordanian, British and International universities, in addition to the world largest Consultation Firms.
It is noteworthy that this year’s ceremony held in Jordan received more than 160 academic personalities, students and specialized architects who came especially to attend this event from nearly 130 countries.
