IBC Members Meet With Mrs. Nancy Bakeer & the Accompanying Investors Delegation from the United States of America

On Wednesday 26/2/2014 a number of IBC members met with the Arab League General Commissioner and the former Minister of Culture and Public Sector Development Mrs. Nancy Bakeer and the visiting delegation of investors from the United States of America comprising of the CEO of Christian Taylor Real Estate Investment Company Mr. Kirk Ecolytz and the Jordanian Businessman Mr. Hisham Mbeidhen.

At the beginning of the meeting IBC Vice Chairman Mr. Turkey Qaisi welcomed the visiting guests and presented a summary on IBC activities and the interest of Iraqi investors to cooperate with Arab and foreign investors to establish joint projects in Iraq.

On his part, Mr. Ecolytz elaborated on a number of investment projects in a number of American States and the programs that ensure granting investors a permanent residency permits in America followed by obtainment of the American Citizenship. IBC Board member Mr. Usama Qaisi discussed with the visiting delegation the projects in question and the interest of Iraqi investors in the American market.

Towards the end of the meeting, Mrs. Nancy Bakeer thanked IBC members for organizing the meeting, stressing the importance of IBC role in the field of economy and the promotion of investment.

The meeting was attended by IBC Vice Chairman and Board member Mr. Turkey Qaisi and IBC members; Mr. Engineer Mekki Faiz, Dr. Fakhri Rishan, Mr. Usama Quraishi, Mr. Muhammad Jawad Jubouri, Mrs. Wasan Khafaji, member of the General Assembly Mr. Hassan Dahan and IBC CEO.

Iraqi Business Council

It is worth mentioning that the idea of ​​establishing the Iraqi Business Council was launched based on the common desire that was generated by a number of elites, who are Iraqi investors and businessmen present in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, where they agreed on the importance of forming an economic reference for them, as well as for those who wish to join them, in a way that contributes to combining and unifying their efforts, in order to maximize Iraqi investment in Jordan, as well as effective contribution to construction and reconstruction in Iraq.

The idea of ​​establishing the Iraqi Business Council found a good response, and was blessed by the government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, so the approval of the competent Jordanian authorities was obtained, thankfully.

The task of establishing it was undertaken by an elite group of Iraqi businessmen known for their efficiency and competence. Since the launch of the council in late 2006, the members have worked to make efforts that support Iraqi investments in Jordan. As well as coordination and cooperation with official bodies, in order to find solutions and proposals to overcome the obstacles and impediments facing investors
