It is worth mentioning that the idea of establishing the Iraqi Business Council was launched based on the common desire that was generated by a number of elites, who are Iraqi investors and businessmen present in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, where they agreed on the importance of forming an economic reference for them, as well as for those who wish to join them, in a way that contributes to combining and unifying their efforts, in order to maximize Iraqi investment in Jordan, as well as effective contribution to construction and reconstruction in Iraq.

The idea of establishing the Iraqi Business Council found a good response, and was blessed by the government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, so the approval of the competent Jordanian authorities was obtained, thankfully.

The task of establishing it was undertaken by an elite group of Iraqi businessmen known for their efficiency and competence. Since the launch of the council in late 2006, the members have worked to make efforts that support Iraqi investments in Jordan. As well as coordination and cooperation with official bodies, in order to find solutions and proposals to overcome the obstacles and impediments facing investors
