Economic Event: The participation of members of the Iraqi Business Council in the Jordanian – Iraqi Forum
Upon an invitation extended by the President of Amman Chamber of Industry, a delegation of IBC members comprising of; IBC Vice Chairman and Secretary General Mr. Saad Naji, IBC Board members; Engineer Turkey Al-Qaissi, Mr. Khalil Al-bunniya, Mr. Muhammad Jawad Al-Jubouri, and IBC General Assembly members; Mr. Muhammad Al- Amili, Mr. Aqeel Al-Hadi and IBC guest Mr. Abdul Wadoud Al-Nesouli / President of the Iraqi – Lebanese Business Council and Director General of the Council in the Jordanian – Iraqi Forum, which was held on Saturday February 23rd 2019 at the offices of Amman Chamber of Industry located in the 2nd Circle.
The meeting was attended by the Iraqi Minister of Industry & Minerals / President of the joint Iraqi – Jordanian Commission Dr. Saleh Abdullah Al-Jubouri and the accompanying delegation comprising of the Director General of Investment Department at the Ministry, Director General of the Industrial Development, President of the Iraqi Federation of Industry and representatives of the public and private Industries sectors and the Chambers of Trade and Industries, the Jordanian Minister of Industry, Trade & Supply Dr. Tariq Al-Hamouri, President of Amman Chamber of Industry Mr. Fathi Al-Jegheiber, the Jordanian Ambassador to Iraq Dr. Muntasir Al-Aqleh and President of the Federation of Arab Businessmen. During the meeting, several important issues were discussed.
Mr. Saad Naji launched during the Forum an initiative to establish a joint exhibition for Iraqi and Jordanian Industries aimed at introducing Iraqi industrial industries wishing to enter the Jordanian markets and likewise for the Jordanian industrial industries.
In response to an invitation extended by the Director General of Investment Department of the Iraqi Ministry of Industry on the available investment opportunities, Mr. Khalil Al-Bunniya suggested to provide IBC of details of the (180) investment opportunities available in the companies affiliated to the Iraqi Ministry of Industry.
Mr. Ahmad Al-Amili further proposed to the Jordanian Ministry of Industry and Trade that visa applications for the Iraqi truck drivers are handled and submitted by the transport companies rather than the industrialists themselves.
