Visit of the President of the Arab Contractors Federation to IBC

Visit of the President of the Arab Contractors Federation – President of the Arab Contractors Federation Mr. Fahad Bin Mohammad Al-Hammad met on Wednesday March 16th 2016 at IBC offices with IBC Chairman Dr. Majid Saedi and IBC Chairman Deputy and Secretary General Mr. Saad Naji.
During the Visit of the President of the Arab Contractors Federation, Mr. Al-Hammadi lauded IBC’s role in facilitating the functioning of Iraqi investors in Jordan, he also commended Jordan’s strategic geographical location as a significant gateway and crossing to Iraq, hence the idea of holding the Arab Iraq 2016 Conference and Exhibition (Reconstruction & Investment) which would explore reconstruction projects and investment opportunities in Iraq in the present and future stages with the presence of the Arab official and semiofficial authorities and commissions, Arab banks and financing institutions, Arab and foreign companies.
For his part, Dr. Saedi welcomed the President of the Arab Contractors Federation and reviewed IBC activities in all fields mainly the economic field, and lauded the facilities provided by the Jordanian government to the Iraqi investors in Jordan. He emphasized IBC’s interest in realizing close cooperation with the Arab Contractors Federation and the Economic Unity Council in the Arab League.

Dr. Saedi reviewed a number of projects open for investment in Iraq. Both sides proposed establishment of a free trade zone between Iraq and Saudi Arabia to promote intra-trade trade.

Also, Mr. Saad Naji proposed opening of Arar border crossing between Iraqi and Saudi Arabia which is considered one of the most significant border crossings for trade exchange between the two countries.

Towards the end of the meeting agreement was reached to conclude an agreement of understanding between IBC and the Arab Contractors Federation to cooperate and coordinate the organization of the Arab Iraq Conference 2016 (Reconstruction & Investment) where IBC will be one of the main partners in this conference.

The meeting was attended by the Media Advisor of the Arab Contractors Federation Mrs. Wijdan Al-Moumeni, the Marketing Director of (Bana Company) for organization of conferences and exhibitions, in addition to IBC CEO.
