Under the patronage and presence of His Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Mr. Omar Al-Barazanji, the Arabic Calligraphy exhibition by Iraqi Calligrapher Adel Al-Hadi was opened on Sunday September 20th 2026 on IBC’s “Ibdaa” Cultural Centre Hall in the presence of a distinguished cultural and economic audience.
The opening ceremony was attended by IBC Deputy Chairman and Secretary-General and founder of “Ibdaa” Cultural Centre, Dr. Saad Naji, along with a number of IBC members including Mr. Aqeel Al-Hadi, Mr. Khalil Radi, Mr. Ahmed Al-Amili, Mr. Muhammad Shanshal as well as IBC Director General. Also, the ceremony was attended by the Chairman and Board members of the Jordanian Investors Association and a number of figures interested in the cultural and artistic affairs.
The exhibition featured a diverse collection of paintings and calligraphy works showcasing the aesthetic qualities of the Arabic letter and the richness and diversity of its artistic forms. The artworks combined the precision of calligraphy, ornamentation, and visual composition. The works drew on Arab and Islamic heritage and demonstrated the ability of Arabic calligraphy to unite language, meaning and visual beauty. Arabic calligraphy is regarded as one of the original arts categorized by several schools, styles and types such as Thulth, Naskh, Taliq, Diwani, Ijazah and Ruqaa.
H.E. the Ambassador and guests toured the exhibition viewing a selection of works by Calligrapher Adel Al-Hadi, which reflected the beauty and diverse styles of Arabic calligraphy and the cultural, civilizational and the artistic heritage it represents.
The exhibition forms part of the activities of IBC’s “Ibdaa” Cultural program, which supports Iraqi artists, promotes Iraqi cultural and artistic production, strengthens cultural ties between Iraq and Jordan and provides a platform for distinguished artistic experiences.
