Opening of Artist Hassan Haddad’s Exhibition “Exzentrisch ” On IBC “Ibdaa” Hall

As part of the activities of “Ibdaa” Cultural Program of the Iraqi Business Council, artist Hassan Haddad’s exhibition titled “Exzentrisch” was opened on Wednesday October 15th, 2025, in IBC Hall.  The opening ceremony was attended by the Iraqi Cultural Advisor, Dr. Kheir Al-Din Al-Amin, IBC Deputy Chairman & Secretary-General, Dr. Saad Naji, IBC Deputy Chairman, Mr. Nazar Awji, IBC Director General, along with elite cultural, academic and artistic figures.

In this exhibition, artist Haddad presented an artistic visual experience stemming from the boundaries of reality and imagination.  His exhibited works blend memory, autobiography and imagination, based on environmental and human vocabulary that are reframed into compositions open to interpretation.  The paintings move between direct and symbolic language, as the artist summons a visual narrative allowing for faltering and contemplation, balancing between the private and general human, giving the themes a deeper emotional dimension.

In this exhibition titled “Exzentrisch” the paintings of Hassan Haddad move within a complex area of multi-layered tension between reality and surrealism.  They are neither purely documentary nor entirely dreamlike, but sway between memory, experience and an inner world of images nourished by his personal experiences of migration, political transformations and a constant quest for identity.
