IBC Concludes a Memorandum of Understanding with the Jordanian Investors Association To Promote Investment & Trade Exchange

In a new step towards strengthening economic and investment cooperation between the private sectors in Iraq and Jordan, the Iraqi Business Council concluded yesterday a Memorandum of Understanding with the Jordanian Investors Association during a ceremony held on IBC hall in the capital, Amman.

The MOU aims to activate joint cooperation frameworks and encourage mutual investments between businessmen in both countries, in addition to promoting investment opportunities, organizing fairs, forums and joint economic delegations in Iraq and Jordan, as well as internationally.

IBC Deputy Chairman & Secretary-General, Dr. Saad Naji, signed the MOU on behalf of IBC, and on behalf of the Jordanian Investments Association the MOU was singed by its President, Mr. Mujahid Al-Rajabi.

The signing ceremony was attended by several members from both parties, including Engineer Mekki Al-Faiz / IBC Board member, and IBC members; Mr. Muhammad Shanshal and Aqeel Al-Hadi, and on behalf of Al-Riyad Group, the ceremony was attended by Mr. Anwer Maharmeh, and IBC Director General.

On the Jordanian Investment Association side, the ceremony was attended by the Vice President / Mr. Saed Al-Jitan, Secretary-General / Mr. Daoud Al-Qasrawi, Treasurer / Engineer Qusai Al-Armouti, along with Board members; Mr. Ahmed Al-Amili, Eng. Tariq Abu Khazneh, Mr. Abdul Hafid Muwaffaq, Engineer Ramzi Qandalaft and the CEO Ms. Haneen Hassouneh.

During the meeting, the two sides agreed to prepare a joint working-paper that includes the most prominent obstacles encountering the private sector and the practical proposals to be addressed.  The paper will be submitted to the economic team in the Jordanian government to contribute to improving the investment environment and boosting the economic activity.
