The Iraqi Business Council hosted on Wednesday July 23rd 2025 at IBC Amman Head Offices an expanded economic meeting with Her Excellency the Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The meeting was attended by IBC Deputy Chairman & Secretary-General, Dr. Saad Naji, IBC Board member Mr. Mekki Al-Faiz, a long with a number of IBC members; Mr. Ahmad Al-Amili, Mr. Aqeel Al-Hadi, Dr. Faris Al-Safi, Eng. Zaid Al-Safi, Mr. Muhammad Shanshal and Mr. Bilal Al-Qaisi, in addition to IBC Director General.
The meeting began with a welcome speech by Dr. Saad Naji, followed by introductory speech by IBC CEO, in which she reviewed IBC main objectives and economic activities and IBC role in supporting and empowering investors. Also, IBC members provided an overview on their companies and the fields of their activities, as well as the most important projects and opportunities they are involved in Iraq and abroad.
For her part, Her Excellency the South African Ambassador extended her gratitude to IBC for organizing the meeting and expressed her country’s keenness on strengthening the commercial and economic relations with Iraq, stressing the importance of developing the communication channels between businessmen in the two countries. She also provided a comprehensive overview on the most prominent and most promising sectors in South Africa and the available investment potentials. She extended an invitation to IBC members to visit South Africa to explore the available opportunities and sites of tourist attractions.
At the end of the meeting, Her Excellency the Ambassador toured the art exhibition held on IBC Hall, which hosted the art works of the Iraqi artist Dr. Sabih Kalash. The Ambassador expressed her admiration in the cultural content and heritage reflected by the displayed works.
This meeting is part of the efforts of the Iraqi Business Council to promote economic openness and build bridges of cooperation with the diplomatic missions and international investment authorities.
