IBC welcomed yesterday Sunday August 23ed 2026 world renowned artist and musician Dr. Naseer Shamma during his visit to the Iraqi Business Council headquarters.  The meeting was attended by IBC Chairman, Dr. Majid Saedi, IBC Deputy Chairman and Secretary-General, Dr. Saad Naji, IBC Director General and IBC members; Dr. Amila Naji, Engineer Muhammad Al-Baghdadi, and Ms. Maha Al-Tabaqchali.  The meeting was also attended by artist Thamir Al-Nassiri and Mr. Ayad Abbas.

During the meeting, the participants reviewed the activities of IBC’s Ibdaa Cultural Program and its role, over nearly two decades, in supporting Iraqi culture and arts and showcasing the work of Iraqi creative talents.  Discussions also highlighted some of Dr. Shamma’s prominent initiatives in Iraq including the “House of Oud’ in Baghdad and the “Baghdad Alaq” (the Glow of Baghdad) Project.

Dr. Shamma also reviewed a number of his projects and upcoming cultural and artistic activities and events in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and invited the Iraqi Business Council to participate in organizing these events to strengthen cultural cooperation and the Iraqi artistic presence in Jordan.

At the conclusion of the meeting, IBC honored the global musician Dr. Naseer Shamma with the cultural creativity shield in recognition of his pioneering artistic career, which enriched the Arab and artistic conscience and contributed to taking the Arab music to global horizons.
