Economic Meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan At IBC Headquarters

The Iraqi Business Council held yesterday; Monday April 27th 2026 at IBC Headquarters an economic meeting with H.E. the Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Mr. Hassan Saleh Sewar Al-Dahab.  The meeting was attended by IBC Deputy Chairman & Secretary-General, Dr. Saad Naji, the banking expert Mr. Hani Idris, Representative of the international Development Bank, IBC Director General, and the Sudanese Embassy Advisor, Mr. Ghaffari Fadilallah.

The meeting addressed prospects for economic cooperation between Iraq and Sudan, as well as investment opportunities available in Sudan, particularly in the agriculture, food industries, transportation and logistics services sectors.

H.E the Sudanese Ambassador reviewed the investment potentials and resources available in Sudan, emphasizing the importance of supporting joint projects and developing the infrastructure related to transport and export to enhance the economic integration between the two sides.

For his side, Dr. Saad Naji reviewed the volume of Iraqi investments in Jordan, the role of the Iraqi Business Council since its establishment in supporting investors and means of facilitating their business activities, noting the Council’s extensive relationships with official and economic institutions and the availability of promising investment opportunities in various sectors in Iraq.

The participants stressed the importance of eliminating obstacles facing investors, enhancing banking cooperation and opening direct channels between business communities in Iraq and Sudan to build long-term strategic partnerships.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Council extended an invitation to H.E. the  Ambassador and businessmen  from the Republic of Sudan to participate in the “Agencies and Franchise” Exhibition scheduled to be held on 9th and 10th 2026 in Jordan , while affirming the continuation of coordination and organization of further joint meetings in the coming period.
