The Ibdaa Cultural Centre of the Iraqi Business Council inaugurated on Monday July 6th 2026 the “Orchards of Memory” Exhibition by Iraqi Artist Dr. Khleif Mahmood on Ibdaa Cultural Centre Hall of the Iraqi Business Council as part of the activities of IBC “Ibdaa” Cultural Program.
The opening ceremony was attended by H.E Mr. Omar Al-Barazanji, Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to Jordan, H.E. Mr. Hassan Saleh Siwar Al-Dahab, Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Dr. Kheir Al-Din Al-Amin, Cultural Advisor at the Iraqi Embassy in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Dr. Saad Naji, the Iraqi Business Council Deputy Chairman & Secretary-General and founder of “Ibdaa” Cultural Program, Mrs. Tamara Al-Daghistani, IBC Board member, IBC members; Mr. Turki Al-Qaisi and Mr. Muhammad Shanshal, the Council’s Director General, in addition to a distinguished cultural, academic and artistic figures.
During the event, Dr. Khleif Mahmood toured the exhibition with the guests presenting an overview of his artistic experience, the themes and concepts of the displayed artworks, highlighting their rich visual and humanistic symbolism invoking memory, nostalgia and transformation of human experience through time.
“Orchards of Memory” exhibition presents a distinctive visual art experience that evokes human memory through the expressive language of line and color, where the human figure occupies a central place in the artist’s work, serving as a living repository of memory, a mirror of transformation and a vessel of meaning, nostalgia and experience. The exhibited artworks are accentuated in a visual style combining the symbolic and humanistic expressive dimension, reconstructing scenes of remembrance and yearning through expressive faces, figures and color spaces rich with connotations.
It is worth noting that Dr. Khleif Mahmod was born in Mosul, Iraq in 1954. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from the Academy of Fine Arts – University of Baghdad, followed by both a master’s and Ph.D. in Print Design. He participated in a numerous solo and group exhibitions in Iraq and abroad and has received many prestigious awards and honors.
