Economic Meeting and Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between The Iraqi Business Council (IBC) and The Jordanian – American Business Council (JABC)

On Sunday July 19th 2026 an economic meeting was held at IBC head offices, during which a Memorandum of Understanding was concluded between the Iraqi Business Council and the Jordanian – American Business Council.  The MOU was signed by IBC Deputy Chairman and Secretary-General, Dr. Saad Naji, on behalf of IBC, and JABC Chairman, Dr. Tariq Najeeb, on behalf of JABC. 

The meeting was attended by IBC delegation including several IBC members and IBC Director General, as well as the delegation of JABC.  The MOU aims to enhance economic and constitutional cooperation between the two sides and to broaden networking and communication among the Iraqi, Jordanian and American business communities.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Saad Naji welcomed Dr. Tariq Najeeb and the accompanying delegation, expressing his appreciation for the visit, emphasizing the importance of the MOU in establishing practical and sustainable cooperation between the two Councils to contribute to serving member companies, exchanging expertise and information and promoting opportunities for trade and investment partnerships.

During the meeting, Dr. Tariq Najeeb highlighted JABC’s extensive international relations network, noting its registration with the US Global Business Council.  He also referred to JABC’s growing partnerships across several African countries and various economic sectors offering additional opportunities for cooperations and networking among companies.

Dr. Najeeb also announced that a business delegation is planning to visit the Sultanate of Oman, with intentions to organize a visit to the Republic of Iraq to explore available opportunities and discuss potential cooperation with the Iraqi business community.

Dr. Najeeb further affirmed JABC’s readiness to promote Iraqi products in the American and Canadian markets and introducing Iraqi companies  to American corporations and institutions, thereby assisting them to access new markets and build international trade relations.

He also reviewed the ongoing preparations to organize Expo 2027 scheduled to be held in Detroit, Michigan, which is expected to feature a wide range of economic sectors with broad international participation.  He further indicated the possibility of organizing a Trade Mission to Detroit with the participation of companies interested in exploring the American market and identifying cooperation and investment opportunities.

Dr. Najeeb added that JABC includes a team of legal and business consultants whose expertise can support companies by providing professional advice in legal, commercial and investment matters.

For his part, Dr. Saad Naji expressed his sincere appreciation to Dr. Tariq Najeeb and the accompanying delegation for their visit and commitment to promoting bilateral cooperation.  He stressed IBC’s readiness to provide JABC with the required studies prepared by IBC on investment in Iraq, in addition to comprehensive information on investment opportunities available in various sectors to promote among companies and investors. At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties stressed the importance of implementing the provisions of the MOU and developing a joint action plan to organize business delegations, trade missions and economic events, as well as exchanging information and investment opportunities to contribute to strengthening economic relations between Iraq and the United States of America and support IBC and JABC’s member companies.
